Biography

Z. George Grekos, MD is a retired cardiologist and internist with more than 30 years of clinical experience in Florida. Dr. Grekos earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 1990, completed residency training in Internal Medicine, and went on to complete fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease (Cardiology).

Throughout his clinical career, Dr. Grekos held hospital privileges at Naples Community Hospital and Physicians Regional — spanning general internal medicine, intensive care, cardiac intensive care, and invasive cardiology — giving him direct, hands-on experience in the exact acute care hospital settings where patients and families most need an informed advocate. His clinical background encompasses the full spectrum of acute cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events, including stroke, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation, as well as complex multi-system illness. Dr. Grekos understands how acute care hospitals and ICUs function from the inside, and he knows how to navigate the complex relationships between physicians, nursing staff, specialists, and hospital administration.

After retiring from active practice, Dr. Grekos pursued and earned the Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) credential — the nationally recognized standard for professional patient advocacy. He founded Clinical Advocate to put his clinical expertise to work for patients and families rather than institutions, providing the kind of informed, physician-level presence at the bedside that most families simply cannot access on their own — whether navigating a cardiac admission, a stroke hospitalization, or a complex internal medicine case in an acute care hospital.

Clinical Advocate serves private-pay patients and families throughout Collier County, including Naples and surrounding communities, exclusively within acute care hospital settings.
